ππ₯ Biblical Accounts and Symbolism of Divine Vehicles and Horses
π Introduction: Horses and Chariots of God (Part #1) π⚔️
π In the Bible, horses are often associated with war, strength, power, and divine action.
π During Solomon’s reign, the use of horses in Israel expanded significantly, including trade with Egypt and the Hittites (1 Kings 10).
πͺ Job 39:19–25 vividly describes the strength and power of the horse as part of God’s creation.
πͺ️ Special attention is given to Ezekiel’s vision, which describes a whirlwind, fire, living creatures, wheels, and the throne of God.
π The central thought is that what may appear mysterious to humanity is fully known to God and remains under His authority.
πͺ️π₯ Ezekiel’s Vision: The Divine Chariot
π Ezekiel 1:4 describes a whirlwind, fire, and radiant brightness coming from the north.
✨ The appearance is described as something extraordinarily bright and shining, resembling polished bronze.
πΌ Ezekiel sees four living creatures with a human likeness and four wings.
π¦ππ¦ π€ They have four faces:
π€ A man
π¦ A lion
π An ox
π¦ An eagle
✨ Their legs shine like gleaming bronze, while fire and lightning accompany their movement.
⚙️π️ The “Wheel Within a Wheel”
π Ezekiel 1:15–21
⚙️ Ezekiel sees four wheels, with each appearing like a “wheel within a wheel.”
π️ The wheels are described as being full of eyes—an image associated with constant observation and awareness.
➡️ They could move straight forward without turning in the ordinary manner.
π₯⚡ The living creatures and wheels are connected in their movement and operation.
π Ezekiel says that “the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels,” emphasizing the unity between the living creatures and the wheels.
ππ The sound of their wings is compared to the sound of great waters, creating an overwhelming sound and presence.
ππ God’s Throne Above the Vehicle
π Ezekiel 1:22–28
π Above the living creatures is something resembling a firmament, shining like sapphire.
π Above it is a throne.
π€ Upon the throne is a figure with the appearance of a man—a majestic manifestation of divine presence.
π₯ The entire scene is surrounded by radiant brightness and fire.
π Above the throne is the appearance of a rainbow—a powerful biblical image of God’s glory and covenant.
π This imagery parallels the heavenly vision recorded in Revelation 4.
π₯π Elijah’s Ascension in a Chariot of Fire
π 2 Kings 2:11
π₯π “And, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire…”
πͺ️ Elijah is taken up into heaven in a whirlwind.
π₯ The chariot and horses of fire become a visible manifestation of God’s power and presence.
π Elisha witnesses this extraordinary event.
π‘️π₯ Horses and Chariots of Fire Protect God’s People
π 2 Kings 6:15–17
π¨ Elisha’s servant becomes frightened when he sees the enemy army surrounding the city.
π Elisha tells him:
“Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
π Elisha then prays:
“LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see.”
π₯π The servant then sees the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.
✨ This illustrates an important biblical truth: God’s power and protection may be invisible to human eyes, yet they remain real before God.
ππ A Spiritual Reality Beyond Human Sight
π These accounts encourage careful examination of Scripture rather than limiting God’s power to human understanding.
πͺ️π₯⚙️ The imagery of whirlwinds, fire, wings, wheels, lightning, and the throne creates a magnificent picture of divine presence, power, and movement.
πΌ Scripture also presents a spiritual realm that exists beyond ordinary human perception.
π Therefore, the emphasis should remain on what Scripture actually says, while recognizing that some aspects of these visions remain mysterious.

**Pastor Arnold Murray:** All right, good day to you. God bless you. Say welcome to the Shepherd's Chapel, welcome to this family Bible study. Our guess what? Horses of the Bible. Now we're going to talk about within this, the chariots of God, and perhaps as we move into the lectures, you'll understand why we're going to title it "Horses of God," because horses were used basically for transportation, and chariot being a *cob* in the Hebrew tongue simply means to ride, or a rider means you're riding. And, of course, horses themselves that came into that, usually they were a figure of war, like a warhorse, and we're looking at both of them if we may.
So let's talk about when Israel first began to acquire horses. It probably happened in numbers during Solomon's reign. For Solomon would bring horses or buy horses from Egypt, and basically it was kind of a horse trader. Then he would sell them at a profit, those he didn't want, to the Hittites. So he was a horse trader, but he used horses. And of course we know that they were used before Solomon's time, but as I say, at that time in mass. In the horse itself, as you will picture it, as described in Job chapter 39 along about verse 19, where God was dressing Job down: "Haven't you seen the horse?" You know, he snorts and his hooves gleam as he tears at the ground and charges and rushes onward. God created many things.
So the reason I'm going into this: how do you describe if a man has never seen anything more high-tech than a chariot? That's a you're riding along in, the wheels turning beside you. How do you describe an event that happens in the Book of Ezekiel chapter one, which we're going to hear in a moment? And poor old Ezekiel had never seen anything fly except a bird, and all of a sudden we've got something to deal with here. But by going back to the manuscripts and the language, which will convert part of it back into the Hebrew for a clearer understanding, and sticking with the subject of Horses of God.
First, let me say we call in this generation the press, the media, and people call, will quill use the term flying saucers as UFOs, which is unidentified flying objects. Well, number one, coming out the gate, there is nothing unidentified with God. And are they mentioned in the Word of God? Well, again, that's the situation. And think of a man describing seeing something of this nature if he's never seen anything more technical, never seen an airplane. You know, again, as I stated, the only thing you've seen fly is a bird, so we got to have some wings for this.
Alright, with that thought in mind, let's ask a word of wisdom from our Father and let's just go into the word and see if we can determine what Ezekiel did see. Okay, Ezekiel chapter 1 and let's pick it up if we may in verse 4. And verse 4 reads: "And I looked, and behold a whirlwind." Now make a mental note of this term *whirlwind*. You're going, we're going to be using it more than one time. "A whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself." It was orange, and I mean the glow was present from it, and a brightness was about it. "And out of the midst thereof, the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire."
Now, in the Hebrew tongue, when we say *color*, there really isn't a word. Let's just, if we may, let's call that word *color* up as it is. It's, you've heard me use a in the Hebrew letter Ayin, which in ancient symbols here, and it means as you read, they're a primitive word and I literally or figuratively by analogy of fountain as the eye of the landscape. Now when you see this letter on, let's say a petroglyph or a pictograph, it means, and it being a circle like our O, it means "look, look and see," and then the message will follow. The very word means not *color* as we would in English, but it appeared to the eye. I am not a leaf... Now that's the Ox in the Hebrew alphabet, but this is the Ayin, which means the eye. We looked to the eye, it appeared, it had an appearance of what? Let's bring up the word *amber* in Hebrew, and then a lot of your thought with it will be solved. And it's *Chashmal*, and it's of uncertain derivative, and it's probably bronze or polished spectrum metal. What it is, it's highly polished bronze. And there's a lot of difference then in amber and *Chashmal*—a highly polished bronze. I mean, we're talking about metal here, not just a color of a glow of something. I mean, we have an object here, and the material, as Ezekiel would be very familiar with, was highly polished bronze. And so we're not dealing with a vision necessarily, we actually see an object here, and it appears to the eye, its appearance is as highly polished bronze.
Now he'll give us the shape of it here. You see, going back to the Hebrew gives us a clearer understanding. Now can we say absolutely that it was highly polished bronze? No, an alien, it appeared to be. I'm sure, and I can guarantee you, it would be a metal so far above anything we have in polished bronze that it would make man's technology look very small. Alright, so what Ezekiel is saying, there was an action, a whirling with this coming in, in this cloud of brilliance, and out of the action appeared the highly polished bronze—we'll call it a vehicle.
Okay, now we continue then, pick it up again with verse five and let's move on ahead. "Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures." There were four of these things, "and this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man." In other words, we have compare Revelation 4:6 where we have the four living creatures. Okay. Verse six: "And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings." Now when God appears, He uses symbology a great deal, and we'll talk—anytime you've got something up here, there's got to be something there that looks like wings. Alright, it's airborne. How does a man that has never seen anything besides a chariot describe something so... Don't lose thought, don't lose with the fact that Ezekiel is not really qualified to explain a circular vehicle such as this, but he does a good job. I don't want to take away from him.
Verse 7: "And their feet were straight feet." That means they were—the Hebrew term is *unjointed*—and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot. You know, a calf's foot is straight jointed, it doesn't bend like a man's leg, "and they sparkled like the color of burnished brass." And here you have it: what does the landing gear look like on a vehicle? And I'm going to let's go one more verse and you'll understand where I'm headed here. Verse 8: "And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings." One more: 9. "Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; and they went every one straight forward."
And verse 10 gives you the description. Verse 10: "As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man (Adam), and the face of a lion on the right side." What's always parked on the right in Israel? Judah. What's his symbol? A lion. Alright. "And they four had the face of an ox on the left side, and they four had the face of an eagle." Numbers chapter 2 verses 10, 3:18, and 25 will explain these things to you. They are symbols of Israel and the position in which they encamped. Alright, so I understand the symbology and take from that that we can tell by looking at this object that certainly it is symbolic or its message is to Israel.
Verse 11—after you go to Numbers chapter 2 you will understand more in depth, a different subject for a different time. 11: "Thus were their faces and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies." What's he seeing? Verse 12: "And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, what spirit? Well, the spirit was heavy, they're all right, well enough, they went; and they turned not when they went." And I'm going to explain that to you in a moment.
Verse 13: "As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: and it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning." Now he's having a very difficult time describing a method of propulsion that it's like it had a globe over it, and many people today when they see a so-called UFO they see this amber—and usually two amber globes. Alright, let's call them energy cells. And I'm talking about people that have had a near experience, as we will say, that Ezekiel is having here—not to take away from Ezekiel—so I understand there is energy that is an energy other than burning fossil fuel as man must do to get someone in orbit.
Verse 14: "And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning." This was quick, it was flashy, and we all know the stories that go with so-called highly polished vehicles and how they can stop and hover and then they're gone—alright, like lightning. 15: "Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces." A wheel there. How does he just, how does he know a wheel? Well, there's one on a chariot, alright. One right there on a chariot, he's seen a wheel. I mean, it circles.
Verse 16: "The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the color of a beryl." This is to say, yellow like the highly polished bronze. "And they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel." Now we have here: how did you describe a wheel that is just up here by itself and yet there's another part in the center that seems to be whirling as he's going to tell us here in a moment, and yet he can see people? Isn't that strange? Well, I wonder how he got to that. Let's see if we can tell. From the middle wheel to the outer wheel, all being one wheel.
17: "When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went." Now that may sound a little confusing, but I want you to picture who we're dealing with. We're dealing with Ezekiel. Now to him, the only wheel he has seen is a wheel that runs by your side when you're riding in a chariot. Alright, now this wheel on the contrary is out here in the air all by itself in a circle, and it doesn't look where it goes. Alright, he just goes straight forward. In other words, all Ezekiel was equipped with was thought maybe like riding a horse or an ass. Alright, when an ass turns or a horse turns, they always turn their neck and look where they're going to go, and a rider—an experienced rider—knows to be very careful, we're about to make a turn here. Or even a man, as far as that's concerned, he turns his head and looks in the direction he's going to go and then he turns. So how do you describe a circular disc? It has no neck, it has no head. So they just went without turning, they just went wherever they wanted to straight ahead. Alright, because they were circular and they had that mobility. I think he did it. When you analyze what Ezekiel had to work with in this description, I think he did a fantastic job. And one that is road workhorses, that is to say on the range, cow ponies better said and so forth. You know exactly what I'm talking about, and that's what Ezekiel is talking about.
And he continues describing this. Listen carefully: "As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them." For in other words, in the circle there were portholes, and the rings means the sound was kind of—it was high enough, there was a high-pitched sound that came from this, but he could see these eyes. Which have you ever seen a window in a pressurized capsule? It's usually circular, most often circular, and he can see windows.
Alright, verse 19: "And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up." Well, I want you to know if you're looking in the window and you're seeing the creatures now—or let's say the beings inside the vehicle—if the vehicle went up, they went up; and if the vehicle came down, they came down. Well, if you're in a helicopter—I'll use a helicopter here, probably bad choice—but be that as it may, you can see the pilot in there, and sure enough, do you know what? When the helicopter goes up, the pilot's not going to stay on the ground, he's gonna go up with it, or he's got bad trouble. Alright, so Ezekiel is simply trying to explain what he was seeing, and his terminology you have to take from what he had to work with.
Verse 20: "Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels." Now wherever the wheels went, when it went—well, if an airplane turns naturally, what happens? The passengers don't continue straight ahead, they turn with the airplane. Basically, that's what he's saying. Now naturally, when he's beginning to work the spirit into this, you'll find out why in a moment, because God's throne is aboard one of these craft, and naturally many times I'll get the question: "Well, why did God need a vehicle?" Well, because He had His throne with Him, and these creatures also, some of them guarded that throne, and this is one of those times that He came to earth and He was able to make this vehicle visible or apparently not visible, and will document that before we complete the lecture.
Verse 21: "When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels." And it was orderly and when at the same time, and the people inside of them when at the same time. Okay.
22: "And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the color of the terrible crystal." This is to say the color of a sapphire. Again, okay. Stretched forth over their heads above they could see this. 23: "And under the firmament were their wings straight." That's to say level, "the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies." Now we know that we're talking about something here other than a human, an angelic being, because we are made and were created in the image of the angels, and we don't have wings. Alright, we don't.
Verse 24: "And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of a host: when they stood, they let down their wings." And we could say when they landed, they let their gear down and they're straight and unjointed. Have you ever seen something like that? Well, we've seen for example our men that landed on the moon. You probably have a pretty good description. Not really, because it wasn't as circular and it used a different type fuel than these people used certainly, but it did have the gear—straight leg down. Alright, so Ezekiel had trouble explaining it. Well, again, I think he did a fantastic job.
Verse 25: "And there was a voice from the firmament," this is to say in the surrounding area of this that was over their heads, "when they stood, and had let down their wings," their gear. 26: "And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it." In other words, it looked like a man. Why? Because it was. It was no doubt our Father. Alright, yeah, His throne, and He was appearing to Ezekiel.
27: "And I saw as the color of amber"—we've gone into those in the Hebrew, you know what they mean—"as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about." God is a consuming fire. Now that's not to say that He's not very emotional and so forth, but a description like this is given in Revelation chapter 1 concerning Christ as He appears at the seventh trump.
Now I want to go on. If you don't understand what I'm about to say, because it's only my opinion, cut number one, I'm not asking you to believe it necessarily, but consider there are different dimensions. These same vehicles are brought to the dimension in which Ezekiel sees that he can report. But again, I will tell you there will be some that will appear and then disappear, and if a body be—I'll use the word *coated* with something whereby the dimension remains the same—but it would be like if you were to have an invisible man covered with powder. Alright, well, what if you had it invisible? By invisible I mean in a different dimension, and then he was covered in a likeness. I'm just saying why it might appear bronze even as the craft. Alright, it means purity as well, but we're seeing our Father described.
Okay, verse 28 was that next? Let's go with the next verse. 28: "As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake." And then God speaks to him, the angel of the Lord, and he falls down. This bow, or this prism that giving off all colors of light, it is the real bow, the rainbow we'll call it, that surrounds God's throne as it is written of in Revelation chapter 4. In Revelation chapter 6 we have the Greek word *toxon* for the bow that Antichrist uses, which is a cheap imitation fabric in the Greek tongue. So let there be no mystery. God is the same yesterday, He is today, and He will be forever.
And perhaps some might think that I digress in certain areas, but I'm trying to help us understand the events that Ezekiel observed, and let there be no doubt: he saw, he observed a highly polished bronze vehicle with God's throne aboard it, and God begins to teach Ezekiel a fantastic message in this second chapter as well as God's messages all are, alright, about how He was going to send him to teach. But the mode of transportation that He utilized was a highly polished bronze vehicle, and there was more than one of them, the formation that appeared with Him. So let there be no doubt. And as I stated, don't you dare call this vehicle *unidentified* to God, because God knows very well.
Now again, I could say the angels that came down left their place of habitation, as it is written of in the book of Jude in Genesis chapter 6 back to the beginning, and took the daughters of Adam to wife and impregnated them, and children were offspring were born. You can read of it in Genesis 6 and your King James brings it out very well. There is a later translation, more recent, that even goes into more detail exactly as I teach it by translating for you. But what my point being, an angelic being that is able to impregnate a woman, and we when we partook of angels' food in the wilderness for forty years, would have to have some type of vehicle to travel in because there is a mass there—not flesh as we have flesh, but we're made, it was another substance that's made exact, we're made exactly in a pattern from it. So I want you to realize there is a side to this that you must open your mind and think upon. Don't make a religion out of it, just to understand the word. There's nothing in this earth that our Father has not explained to us if we'll take the time to search for it in His word.
So did Ezekiel see a UFO? Not to God. It was a vehicle He used for transportation of His throne, and it used a propulsion because it could reverse or go wherever it so chose at its own will and its own time. And so it was that Ezekiel was visited. There would be another time that he would be again, but with that, that covers it in Ezekiel. We see Ezekiel describing it, and I think excellent form and shape.
Now let's—did it happen again? And the answer is yes. It happened in Second Kings concerning Elijah. Elisha didn't die, God took Elijah. And we find in Second Kings and then you'll begin to understand perhaps a little more concerning horses of the Bible. 2nd Kings chapter 2, that is to say, and verse 11. And it reads: "And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked"—this is Elijah and Elisha is about to depart—"that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." A whirlwind—a whirling, turning, it would appear it was circular. And these are horses, so to speak, because they were lacking in to war, and will again it bases back to the chariot—that's why it's called chariot. Chariots were most often used in battle, in war, thus described. So naturally, Elijah was taken up in a vehicle whereby he was able to survive in that vehicle.
Verse 12: "And Elisha"—that's to say his protΓ©gΓ©—"saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces." And of course Elisha, if you remember, had told him, "If you see me leave, then you will find my mantle." And surely the mantle fell away from the vehicle as it departed.
So when we begin to see and to understand, then Elijah wasn't the first one this happened to. You'll remember in the book of Genesis chapter 5 verse 24, and it's backed up in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 5, that Enoch also was taken by the Lord. It was taken in this same wise. So there's not really, when we analyzed the word, there's no great mystery in this.
And just one more thought before we close this first section. Go with me to chapter 6 and let's pick it up with verse 15. How does God protect us? How do we know what these chariots are? Are they there? Do we see them? Are they in a different dimension? Of course that they are. I had mentioned that. Verse 15, 2nd Kings chapter 6. Elijah and his servant have climbed up on a ridge and they're looking over, and they saw so many of the enemy that the servant about sold out, okay, frightened him.
Verse 15: "And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, a host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?" To modernize that, it would we would say, "What in the world are we going to do? I mean, there are enough enemy out there that there's not a prayer," alright, not a prayer of a chance.
Verse 16: "And he answered," this is Elisha—he had observed these before first hand when he saw there was a possibility he wouldn't have seen it, why? It's a different dimension, you must be aware of that. Don't wrestle with it and don't let it be a stumbling block to you. But Elisha saw it, and he answered, "Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." Think about that. They're just two of them, they're just two human beings, and he's saying there's more with us than there are with them.
Then verse 17: "And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee"—that's what you want to do if you want something, if you need a miracle, let it be in prayer—"open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man;" in other words, He allowed him and gave him the ability to see a different dimension, "and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." In other words, these circular vehicles, there were so many of them around in that valley that certainly there was no worry.
Verse 18: "And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha." So when God is ready to help you, though you might feel you're all alone, you must have faith to know that He will never leave thee nor forsake thee, and when we have problems, God is certainly able to handle those problems, and He has warriors to do it.
It is very difficult when we begin speaking of dimensions or something there that we're not able to see. Do not let it frighten you, especially if it's of us that is to say our Father, and if you use your power that God has given you over demonic forces, they will always be for us if you have that shield up—spiritual shield, I'm speaking spiritually now. But how remarkable when we find that in the Word of God, there it is all the time, and people go around talking about, "Oh my, they saw this circular disc." Why, they've been around since Ezekiel's time. They've been around since Enoch's time. What's new under the sun? Nothing.
Again, don't make a religion out of this. We're just talking about transportation. Is it a good or bad vehicle? Well, it's God who's driving it. Just like a car: if you got a nut behind the wheel, it's bad, I mean, he might kill somebody, but if you got a good professional driver behind the wheel, then it's a good car, it's going to do good works. So it's just like anything else, nothing new under the sun.
So is that far out, some might say? Well, I trust that you love your Father. That's His MO, His method of operation. It's gone home for a long, long time, and if Ezekiel, who probably gives us the best description of the whirling thing, calling it a whirlwind—that's all he had ever seen, you see that little dust devil go out across the prairie there in Texas, just a whirling. Well, that's what this thing was doing too. So what are we going to call it? A whirlwind kind of leaves the appearance. Yep, these people had to describe these things. He said, there's just a little difference. Ezekiel said it's highly polished bronze, it's a very highly machined metal, it is so machined it's polished. You say so? We read through the eyes of Ezekiel and then update yourself to the 20th century and soon the 21st, and the scales begin to fall away, and you realize as I've stated, Ezekiel did a fantastic job.
Alright, hey, don't miss—we're gonna talk about this some more. Don't miss the next lecture: Horses of the Bible, Chariots of Fire. Alright, bless your heart.
Dr. Pastor Arnold B. Murray
**Pastor Arnold Murray / Questions and Answers:**
Joe from Washington: "Do you have any teachings on what kind of foods that are good to eat? I love your program." Well, thank you, I'm glad you do. Yes, I have a tape titled *Health God's Way*, but Dr. Alexander has some fantastic tapes on blood pressure and for diabetics and various other things. If you look at the tape list, you will see them. And it is again, God made these flesh bodies, and He told us in here what to feed them, what to eat and what not to eat, and people ignore it and they get sick.
Pam from Minnesota: "I'm a divorced woman who is raising my daughter's son because she didn't want him. I work all I can, but I put her son first because I believe I should. My question is this: I receive public assistance to help me as this..." No, it's not wrong if you need it. It's just continue praying and who knows, God will bless you. But in a case like this where you had to take on unfortunately your daughter's responsibilities, I ask God's blessings upon you and I think it's great that you did and that you do take care of him. No, you don't have to apologize for that.
Carolyn from California: "My husband divorced me and is living with another woman. I'd like to date and remarry, but according to Matthew 5:31 and 32, I'd be committing adultery. It just doesn't seem fair that he's with someone and I'm here alone. What should I do?" Question, what I'm gonna tell you—it's gonna sound like I'm pushing a tape—but I want you to order it. Order the tape *Divorce*. Is that the title of it? It is, isn't it? Yes, the title is *Divorce*. And you might be quite surprised that God is never unfair. Alright, I think you'll be glad you did it. You see, if a man leaves a woman for another party and this woman repents of all her sins or any of her part, Christ is able to forgive. In the second place, adultery is not the unforgivable sin. I will say no more. Simply if you want to know about divorce and what God's Word really says about it, order the tape. God Himself divorced Israel in Jeremiah chapter 3—what is it, long about verse 8 I think. But that tape number, divorce, number 784.
Justin from Georgia: "I want to thank you for teaching the word the way you do." Well, you're sure welcome. "Keep giving the one verse Charlie's heck." Well, well, well, the one verse revs, they'll grow up perhaps someday and be Bible teachers. You can't tell. Thanks Justin, I appreciate that.
Rod from Arizona: "The Bible says 'Thou shalt not kill.' This means you are anyone else here, you got a person that is an expert in the languages of the Bible. Alright, so how can you say that it's okay?" And then he goes on and he calls me a hypocrite and "no one who loves God kills anybody, that's why the military is wrong." Well, you little wimp, don't you even talk to one that has fought and shed blood just to keep religious freedom in this country. And because of your ignorance, I will tell you the Bible says "Thou shalt do no murder," even as Christ teaches in Matthew 5. And you'd better listen, otherwise you're on a one-way ticket. Jesus would say in Matthew 5, "I don't change one little touch of the law, and you have heard that those that kill stand in danger of judgment." The word *kill* in English is not adequate to cover *phonos*, the prime in the Greek of what Christ actually said, it means criminal homicide. When a nation attacks this nation to take away our religious freedoms, our rights, and wants to rape and destroy our population, men should kill anyone with that in mind. That is not murder. So I really, you know, I'd like to talk to you like an old Marine and call you what you really are. Don't even want to—I don't even want to talk to you. I hope that you follow through and prove me wrong. Check it out, all you need is a Strong's Concordance, son. And someday you might grow up and be a man.
Pat from California: "Revelation 6:13, Revelation 12:4, Genesis 6:2—are these the fallen angels that are of the seven thousand that will perish with Satan?" And of course Pat has referenced to Revelation chapter 11 when after the two witnesses rise from the street, instantly seven thousand died, and those are the ones mentioned in Jude and yes, that's the ones from Genesis 6. But now in Revelation 12:4 you have a whole third that followed Satan, and they're not as bad as these; they at least did not leave—the third did not leave their place of habitation, which the sin for that was death, as Jude brings out.
Doll from California: "A local pastor teaches that the seventh trump is the millennium and other teaches the seventh trump is sounded until God's day. I say the seventh trump sounds and the seventh seal is open, what say ye?" Well, the seventh seal and the seventh trump are at the same time. The seventh trump sounds at the return of Christ before the Millennium. This dude that teaches that it doesn't sound until after the Millennium has never read the book of Revelation because a child can decide better deserve better than that. Alright. It's no, the trump's there are seven events given in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 in such a simple way as Christ gave the seven seals of events that would happen when He was asked, "What's it going to be like when you return?" And of course He gives the seven trump's, and the seventh one is His return. He gives the seventh events, do you have to put those together yourself?Okay.
Isabel from North Carolina: "Please document where it says you must be baptized more than once." It doesn't say that. There is no way you have to be baptized more than once. Baptism is a personal thing, it's between—it doesn't have anything to do with a church, it's between you and Christ. And if you were baptized to someone other than Christ, then you haven't been baptized in Christ. But if you've already been baptized in Christ, then you don't have to be baptized again. I probably know why you're asking that because you're probably wanting to join some church and they're telling you you got to be rebaptised all over again. I would only say one thing: just remember that the word *baptized* means to be totally submerged as you do a piece of cloth if you're dying it from one color to another—that's part of the word baptized—so that you know clearly what you're talking about.
Chet from Arizona: "Where was the location of the Garden of Eden? Does anyone know?" Well, a lot of people think they do and they believe it's in this one certain valley and it's very near the place where the Tigris and Euphrates and these rivers run together, which is a description much likened unto the description of the Garden of Eden. No one really knows. We've never found any document and proved. But, you know, hey, we have to remember that the flood was after that and there's no way of knowing really, but many people are quite sure that's where it is.
Kenneth from South Carolina: "I heard a so-called teacher on television say people shouldn't take a tax deduction for contributions to religious organizations. He based this on Matthew 6:1. I don't believe this is what Jesus was talking about. Would you comment on this?" Well, I don't like to make comments about other ministries, you know, everybody has the freedom, we got freedom of religion in this country and I'll stand up for that man's right to teach that if he chooses to. I don't teach that, but I feel that we're not to—I feel it's wrong to coerce someone into a donation because that's not giving willingly and freely and it robs the person from their blessing. I just would choose not to comment on that past that point. Okay, enough said.
Desmond from California: "At the end of the millennium there's the lake of fire. Is this lake of fire actually God?" Well, there are some things we must remember from the scripture and go from there. Last verse of Hebrews chapter 12: God is a consuming fire. From the book of Matthew we read, "Fear not those that can kill this flesh body, but rather fear ye who can cause your soul to perish." The description of Satan's perishing is given in Ezekiel chapter 28 verse 19, 18 or 19, that he turns to ashes from within, and the Father is the destroyer of souls. So a word to the wise is sufficient.
Gay from Wisconsin: "Does Peter's vision in Acts chapter 10 verses 9 through 17 have anything to do with changing the food laws?" And the answer is no, absolutely not. Or is it saying that God has cleansed the Gentiles and given them the opportunity for salvation? What is the significance of it being repeated three times? There's a third witness meaning it's absolute, it's sealed that anyone even a Canaanite can obtain salvation by accepting and believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ. He has power enough to forgive and approve anyone that will believe upon Him. You've done your homework well, Gay, that's the instruction.
"Of anointing of the Leviticus priest right here—right and the right big toe—have any connection to the Timothy Trent?" And no, not really. It was just a way and a method. Remember this: after Christ paid the price on the cross, all you have to do now is call the elders and anoint as it is written in James 5 and it is done. The priest had to go through many things such as cleansing leprosy was to bring certain animals, to bring two birds to kill one bird and put its blood on the other and let that bird fly away. So supposedly meaning the shedding of blood hadn't was necessary, but read Hebrews chapter 10 real closely. Hebrews chapter 10, and it is almost sacrilegious to say that anything need be offered or is likened unto except Christ Himself, for only He was the one that could say, "Lo, I come in the volume of the book," and was the fit sacrifice for one and all and all times, and there is no more sacrifice other than our sacrificial love to Almighty God Himself.
Anita from Alabama: "Where is this Saddam in our prophecy? What is come, what is to come of this?" Well, you look to find a type. You look at the geographical location, you have many things that Iraq, you have the old city of Ur, and you can kind of tell what kind of man Saddam is by what occurred at Ur during the Desert Storm war. He parked aircraft by the ancient old city to keep us from the old temples that were the home of Abraham, birthplace of Abraham. He is the one who many years ago—not many years ago, about ten—rebuilt the old city Babylon, so he's king of Babylon and he's a type, but a type only. But watch and observe and you can learn concerning prophecy.
ππ₯ Biblical Insights on the Supernatural Horses and Vehicles in Scripture
ππ Introduction: Horses and Chariots in the Bible (Part #2)
Pastor Arnold Murray begins with a verse-by-verse exploration of the horses, chariots, and supernatural vehicles described in Scripture.
π The study examines their symbolism, prophetic significance, and connection to major biblical events.
⚔️π Throughout Scripture, horses and chariots can represent warfare, divine power, judgment, protection, angelic activity, and prophetic events.
πͺ️⚙️ Ezekiel’s Vision of Divine Vehicles
π Ezekiel 1
π️ Ezekiel describes an extraordinary vision involving:
⚙️ Wheels within wheels
π₯ Fire and lightning
✨ A shining, highly polished appearance
πΌ Four living creatures
πͺ½ Wings and supernatural movement
π God’s throne above the firmament
π The vision portrays movement unlike ordinary earthly transportation.
π Most importantly, the throne of God is associated with this heavenly manifestation, demonstrating divine authority and mobility.
πͺ️ Elijah’s later ascension in a whirlwind provides another biblical account involving supernatural transportation.
π₯π Heavenly Chariots in 2 Kings
π 2 Kings 6:15–17
π¨ Elisha’s servant sees the enemy army surrounding the city and becomes afraid.
π Elisha responds:
“Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
π Then Elisha prays for his servant’s eyes to be opened.
π₯π The servant sees the mountain filled with horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.
π‘️ This demonstrates a powerful biblical theme:
✨ God’s protection can exist even when human beings cannot naturally perceive it.
π️ What is invisible to ordinary sight may be revealed by God according to His will.
πΌπ Angelic Beings and Supernatural Encounters
π Genesis 6 and other passages describe mysterious encounters between heavenly beings and humanity.
πΌ Scripture presents angels as beings who can sometimes appear in human form.
⚠️ This calls for spiritual discernment. Not every supernatural claim should automatically be accepted as biblical truth.
π Rather than relying on popular culture, speculation, or sensational stories, believers are encouraged to test everything against Scripture.
π 1 John 4:1 — “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”
ππ΄⚪ Zechariah’s Prophetic Horses
π Zechariah 1:8–11
π Zechariah sees horses of different colors, including:
π΄ Red
⚪ White
π€ Speckled
πΌ An angel explains that they have been sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
π Their movement represents divine oversight and activity throughout the earth.
⚠️ The apparent peace described in the passage should also be considered within its broader prophetic context.
⚔️π Four Chariots — Zechariah 6
π Zechariah 6:1–8
π️ Four chariots emerge from between two mountains.
π Their horses are described as:
π΄ Red
⚫ Black
⚪ White
π€ Grizzled/dappled
πΌ These are associated with four spirits of heaven going forth from the presence of the Lord.
π They are sent throughout the earth according to God's command.
⚔️ The imagery points toward divine activity, judgment, conflict, and God's sovereign control over the nations.
π⚔️ Prophetic Conflict and the “North Country”
π§ Biblical prophecy repeatedly uses geographical directions such as north and south in describing nations and movements.
π Ezekiel 38–39 also describes a future conflict involving nations coming against God's people.
⚠️ Modern political interpretations should be approached carefully.
π Scripture should remain the foundation rather than attempting to force every modern political event into a specific prophecy.
π The central biblical message remains that God is sovereign over nations and history.
π‘️π₯ God’s Chariots in Action
ππ₯ Throughout Scripture, divine horses and chariots are associated with God's power.
π‘️ They can represent:
πΌ Divine agents
⚔️ Spiritual warfare
π₯ Divine judgment
π‘️ Protection of God's people
π God's authority
π God's activity among the nations
π The believer's confidence ultimately rests not in supernatural phenomena themselves, but in God who commands them.
π¦π Revelation’s Terrifying Horses
π Revelation 9:7–10
π¦ John describes creatures resembling horses prepared for battle.
⚔️ Their appearance is terrifying and highly symbolic.
π¦ They have characteristics resembling lions.
π‘️ They possess breastplates described as iron.
πͺ½ Their wings produce a sound compared with many chariots rushing into battle.
π₯ This apocalyptic imagery portrays destructive spiritual judgment and warfare.
⚠️ The passage should be interpreted carefully within the larger symbolic language of Revelation.
π⚪π The White Horse of Christ’s Return
π Revelation 19:11–16
✨ Here comes the ultimate contrast.
π⚪ A white horse appears.
π The rider is called:
“Faithful and True.”
✝️ The rider is identified with Christ, the righteous King and Judge.
π₯ His eyes are like a flame of fire.
π He wears many crowns.
⚔️ He judges and makes war in righteousness.
π©Έ His robe is described as dipped in blood.
π⚪ The armies of heaven follow Him, riding on white horses and clothed in fine linen.
π Christ's return demonstrates the ultimate victory of God's kingdom over evil.
⚔️π The Great Contrast
π₯ God’s heavenly forces
π‘️ Protection
π Divine authority
⚖️ Righteous judgment
π Heavenly armies
VS.
π Forces opposed to God
⚔️ Deception
π₯ Destruction
π Spiritual rebellion
πͺ️ Judgment
✝️ The final outcome is not uncertain.
π Jesus Christ is victorious.
ππ Tools for Serious Bible Study
π Serious Bible study requires careful examination of context, language, and Scripture as a whole.
π Helpful study resources include:
π Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance
π Companion Bible
π Cross-references
π Prayerful study
π Comparing Scripture with Scripture
⚠️ No study tool should replace the authority of Scripture itself.
ππ Biblical Wisdom for Everyday Life
The study also addresses practical questions concerning:
π️ The Holy Spirit
❤️ Forgiveness
⚖️ Justice
π Faith
π¨π©π§ Human responsibility
π‘️ Spiritual warfare
π Biblical maturity
✨ The goal is not simply to know about salvation, but to grow in biblical understanding and spiritual maturity.
π₯π Key Biblical Insights
π Horses and chariots — Often associated with warfare, authority, divine intervention, and prophetic imagery.
⚙️ Ezekiel’s wheels — A mysterious heavenly vision connected with God's throne and supernatural movement.
π️ Eyes — A recurring biblical image associated with awareness, observation, and divine knowledge.
π₯ Fire — Frequently associated with God's presence, holiness, power, and judgment.
πΌ Heavenly beings — Scripture describes spiritual beings who operate according to God's purposes.
⚔️ Spiritual warfare — Biblical history includes an unseen dimension of conflict between good and evil.
π⚪ The white horse of Revelation 19 — A powerful picture of Christ's victorious return.
π Christ's final victory — God's sovereignty ultimately triumphs over every opposing power.
ππ₯ Final Encouragement
π Stay in God's Word.
π Study carefully.
π Pray continually.
π Ask God for spiritual discernment.
⚔️ Stand firm against deception.
❤️ Trust Christ through every trial.
✨ The supernatural imagery of Scripture should lead us beyond curiosity and speculation toward greater faith in the God who rules over heaven, earth, nations, angels, and history.
π “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14
✝️π₯ Jesus Christ is the Living Word, and in Him believers have hope, victory, and eternal life. πππ

**Pastor Arnold Murray:** Alright, good day to you. God bless you. Say welcome to the Shepherd's Chapel, welcome to this family Bible study. Let's talk for a moment. We're talking about horses of the Bible, and I wouldn't say there are many things on this subject we just don't know, but we do gather from our Father's word. And let's recap just a little bit what we discovered in the first lecture on this subject.
And that was that in the first chapter of Ezekiel, the color amber in the Hebrew is highly polished bronze. Not a color, but highly polished bronze was these discs, the round circle that he saw. Was it highly polished bronze? I can assure you it wasn't. That's the only way he could describe it. But it was a metal far superior than anything we have on earth, because our high technology at this time, high-tech vehicle still must be propelled with fossil fuel of one form or the other, basically chemicals. And I assure you this wasn't. And that makes it very interesting, and we can absorb that from our Father's word. Also, our Father's throne was aboard this vehicle. It had windows, rings, and it had windows, and wherever the vehicle went, the people inside it went. Okay, well, that's the way he described it, and that's just natural. People in helicopters and airplanes do the same thing, you know. They work, where it goes, they go, or they'd have a terrible ride one way or the other. So that's just common sense applied to it.
And then we discussed Elijah and as much as this whirlwind, as it was described by Ezekiel. You know, a man that's never even seen an automobile or an airplane, understand how handicapped he is to describe what he's seen. And this vehicle, I will call it that, that took Elisha was capable of carrying a body because Elijah didn't die, and it was a form of transportation.
Now we then went to Second Kings in the sixth chapter and learned that when Elisha—that's to say the student of Elijah—and incidentally when that vehicle left, the mantle of Elijah fell, and Elisha was able to see that, and naturally took of the mantle of Elijah. In the actual history of it in God's Word, Elisha performed exactly twice the miracles that Elijah did. God certainly loved him. But Elisha and an armor-bearer or a servant were up on a hill. I mean, the mountains were covered with chariots. And remember, chariots in the Hebrew tongue simply means to ride, but it always—the horse and the chariot—having to do with war or power. Okay. And Elisha's armor-bearer says, "What in the world are we going to do?" And he, Elisha, prayed that God opened the eyes of this one that he could see the chariots that were just above them. This documents to us being real—that the vehicles, apparently chariots, whatever you want to call them, are in a different dimension. They necessarily then we are accustomed to see. That is to say, God is always with us. He never leaves us nor does He forsake us. And God granted Elisha that wish, and the armor-bearer's eyes were opened, and the sky was covered with vehicles that destroyed the enemy without almost firing a shot. That is to say, the very sound itself of them. So we put those things together and we know yes of a certainty there is a vehicle involved from God's word, that it is in a dimension that can or cannot be seen. It is according to apparently what our Father chooses.
So that leaves one to say again, there's a lot about this we don't know, that we do not understand at this time. But at least take this much from those that will tell you stories concerning UFOs—unidentified flying objects. Now to God, they're not UFOs. They're not unidentified. He knows what they are. Alright. And Ezekiel describing that. Now as we take this, then we know that with God's throne having been aboard one of these, that certainly it was a form of transportation.
A scholar of God's Word knows also that the Nephilim from the prime root in Hebrew *naphal*—fallen—and as it is written in the book of Jude, that the fallen angels that were able, and as much as we are built in the exact, created in the exact image of God and the angels, as it is written, that it requires some sort of vehicle if they are able to impregnate a woman. And Genesis 6 documents that. So again, weighing to the fact of transportation.
Now many people get all carried away and you hear stories of seeing little men. Now stop and think for a moment. God created man in the image of God and the angels. Now I haven't seen any human beings that look like these little creatures that they draw on paper and so forth, and I could say a great deal more about this in places I have been—they weren't there or either so I don't believe they exist. So if somebody comes off with you with a story about little men, be very careful, because angelic beings look exactly as we do. I would suppose that if one walked in a room—and it's not likely to happen until Satan and his angels are cast out—you wouldn't recognize them unless you tested the fruit to know what they represented. I'm saying that at one time. I don't want to get anyone off on any deep path or trail. I'm just saying you got a brain, use it. And nothing, never, never until you have had something documented to you or you have seen with your own eyes. And then Satan is a trickster of hallucinations, of making things appear to be what they are not. Take that into consideration. Okay, enough said. Kind of a recap.
Let's continue with the horses of the Bible. Zechariah was a prophet, and it means Zechariah means "remembered of Yah," remembered by our Father. And he mentions horses on a couple occasions in relationship to the end of this earth age. And open your Bibles if you will to the first chapter of Zechariah. Let's pick it up if we may with the eighth verse, asking the word of wisdom from our Father and let's see what the Word of God has to say about these things. And it reads: "I saw by night"—in other words it was dark but he could see—"and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom," and that would be the shade, "and behind him there were red horses, speckled, and white." Now all these have a red, reddish tint to them basically. And think about that.
Verse 9: "Then said I, O my lord, what are these? What are those?" I mean, I think he could recognize a horse. Notice he didn't say "who are these," he said "what are these." And he was again, you would have a man that had never seen an automobile or anything else. Be that as it may. "And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be." 10: "And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent"—not from the next county over here or not from another country—"the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth."
Verse 11: "And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees." Now we know that this was an angelic being there. "And said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest." What does that mean? Now amplified, you can almost fix a time. They appeared upon this earth when all you could hear is "peace, peace, peace," which is one of the warnings that we were given that would be a sign of the end times. They cry peace, but there is no peace. There's only one truth—Prince of Peace.
Now if you would turn on over with me to the sixth chapter of this great book of Zechariah. I will just help you remember in case you forget that first chapter, as he would describe—he described the four hidden dynasties, that's the four horns. The four hidden dynasties that Satan would use to put this earth at peace. And that is to say, educational, the economy, the political, and last but certainly not least, the religious dynasties of the world moving to a position to control those and deceive people. But in that same chapter, God would tell us of four carpenters that would repair the damage they did by bringing God's truth. And then of course it goes into stone with seven eyes and speaks of the two witnesses in Zechariah chapter four. Just wanted to fill you in.
And before we begin in Chapter six, the reason I'm making this statement and summarizing this book for you just a little bit is so that you understand the time event, the time sequence, the chronological value of these chapters. Chapter 5 tells us of the actual appearance of the nation Babylon, and it is called Shinar, but that is a cipher that means Babylonia. Alright. I won't go into it—of the dirty stork and the basket, health between heaven and the earth, and the two women there in, and they put a zinc lid on it and so forth. Remember that. Okay.
Following that thought that the mystery, the harlot Babylon, would appear on earth which simply means confusion that those dynasties bring forth, we read in chapter 6. We read verse 1: "And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass." Now these are supernatural things. Alright, by that I mean these are controlled by supernatural beings meaning angels.
Verse 2: "In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses." Of course there is symbolism in this, but I choose not to go into that at this time. A different time, subject for a different time. Three—you'll remember you that want to study deeper—you'll find that in the book of Revelation the same colors. Verse 3: "And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grizzled"—that's French, dapple if you wonder what color we're talking about—"and bay horses." A bay is a light red to brown.
Verse 4: "Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?" I mean he knew what horses and chariot, but my point is this: Zechariah was a very educated individual—I don't want to use the word educated, he was a very intelligent being and I will use the word educated—he was mainly he was a prophet of God, a prophet of one of the twelve that God chose among the twelve minor. He didn't know what they were. "What are these, my lord?"
Verse 5: "And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens"—not of the earth, not from the earth—"of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth." So who sent these? Of course you know—chariots definitely stand for war. So we're talking about the final battle here. We're talking about when you put everything into perspective from chapter 5 and the chapters that follow—the end and the events that consummate the end of this age.
Now listen to the prophecy basically. Verse 6: "The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country." Now think North. You know what this world is? Think North for a moment. "And the white go forth after them; so the white and the black went north. And the grizzled go forth toward the south country." 7: "And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth."
8: "Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country." Now think for a moment. When you go into prophecy, think back to the prophecy in Genesis, I believe it's chapter 27, concerning Esau. I don't believe, I know it is. Alright, I'll just say it. 25 is promised, 27 kind of his curse in a way where he was instructed by his father that he would live off away from the fat of the land. You have to do a little research in the Hebrew to get this. Now you can do it with a simple Strong's or my work on Genesis 27—or Esau that he would always live in the north, and in fact it was a curse. Alright. And when we looked at the North Country, there was especially in this age of the fig tree, we know we're in the time that consummates the end of this age. Then we're talking about those that were under the arm of communism. What did communism teach? Basically there was no God, that man can create his own heaven on earth. Basically, and sounds good to some people—it's called socialism. And these writers would take care of that.
Now we know that communism supposedly has fallen. Don't you ever believe it. Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophesy lets you know better than that, for the spurious Messiah will rebuild all that again—anti-God, destroy the churches, store grain in them. What all have they done with the great churches that put to shame the churches of this land when the Tsar, Christian born of the royal seed of the house of Israel—the ten tribes that built these magnificent churches. But these that went to the north, both the white and the black, put God's soul at rest for the moment. So in a sense, you can see a lot of events that are happening right now. And again I would remind you—well why didn't the press talk about this? Well, we know that Elisha's servant couldn't see them. I can tell you I know the press couldn't see them. Now that may sound ludicrous, that's just a little in-house joke here. Alright, a little jab at the news media of today. They can't see what's actually happening. How could you ever expect them to see something supernatural and report it right? Without—can you imagine the spin they would put on this? I mean, their tongues would probably hang out. "Boy, I saw something circling like this, and the dirt horses was going north and south, and they were white and they were red." And this is my opinion, they need more horses north than they do salad. Now that would be their spin on it. I mean, you're really intelligent stuff, super being able to cipher the things of man.
Well, I'm glad we have our Father's word. We're talking about a subject that is very controversial, but when you can back it with God's Word, you need to think upon it very seriously. It would seem that these things were given to us by our Father that the wise in the end times could understand by the current events that are transpiring around the world. And these chariots of fire are God's chariots. Were here out? Why do I call them God's chariot? He sent them, that's obvious. He sent them. What was in them? Men—angelic beings with God's permission. And good men see them? Well, it would be according to where God wanted them to or not. There's no battle we're going to lose, and when God promises us that He will protect us, don't worry. There are outside influences. Divine intervention is a fantastic thing, and God is more natural than we are in as much as He's supernatural, and He has a much more natural way of conquering things than you might even think. Alright, we'll just leave that right there.
Now so here we've covered the Old Testament and we've talked about horses of the Bible. Is that something to get all shook up? No, but to think upon. And as I stated and I remind you again, there is a lot about this that we don't know, that we can only read and naturally you apply to your mind. They're reports of the world, and I have given you a clue as to how you can separate the good from the bad. Alright, I'm talking about reports now. I'm talking about appearance of the entities. You can pretty well mark it yes or no. Right, enough said on that subject.
Now, what about them—the New Testament? Surely have—do we have anything recorded in the New Testament concerning horses in a supernatural sense? And the answer is of course we do. And I could use the old clichΓ© we use on earth: I got some good news and I got some bad news. Okay. But I can't use that being a servant of God because everything that happens is good news for us. It really is, because events are coming to pass.
You all remember in the book of Revelation the great ninth chapter where the fifth angel sounds Trump and we are shown how the false messiah and his army, so to speak, conquer the world. What did he utilize to accomplish this with? And of course you can read the same thing in the book of Joel basically. So we're not—I didn't have to come here to tell you about this particular group of horses, for we could have found them as well in the book of Joel.
Let's skip to the seventh verse. You know what God has done to this point? He said, "Hey Satan—Apollyon in the Greek tongue and Abaddon in the Hebrew tongue, meaning Satan—you said you can go down there, but don't you dare bother those that have the seal of God in their forehead." And the same as the four spirits of God—I hope you can remember from Revelation that we just departed from in Zechariah—in that ninth chapter, I'm sorry the sixth chapter of Zechariah—the four spirits of the world as you will find in the seventh chapter of Revelation as well as the seventh chapter of the Book of Daniel. The four spirits that hold the end of the world, that is to say that let it and bring it to pass. Alright, you'll read of it again in Ezekiel chapter 37 when the truth is given to the children of Israel and bone comes to bone, meaning spiritual life begins to regenerate in the people's minds. And we see all these things and signs to the scholar of events that consummate the end of this earth age. So this is very important.
Revelation chapter 9 verse 7, and it reads: "And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared into battle." Again, horses always connected with battle. The shapes of the locusts—their locusts, the like never seen a locust shaped like a horse ready to go to battle? Well, I don't think so, but it's figuratively speaking, symbolically speaking, better said. We're by, you can let your mind be exercised just a little bit and understand. "And on their heads were as it were crowns like gold." In other words, they're pretending to be royalty or of God. I could even say Christ, because that's what he'll be calling himself. "And their faces were as the faces of men." So we're not—we know we're not talking about locust. We're talking about the fallen angels.
Alright, eight: "And their hair as the hair of women." That means they look so ever peaceful. You know how gentle a woman is? You know how gentle a woman is—it's kind of their nature. If you rile them, they're not all that gentle. You know, these women of Israel—they'll... well, whatever—they're my kind of women. "And their teeth were as the teeth of lions." I'm talking about Christian women all over, they are fantastic. Well, so we see that they're gentle and crying peace, but the teeth of a lion—have you ever seen a lion make a kill? I mean it is rip, it is tear. It means they are vicious. So we see in this then again, this horses of the Bible, alright, that are used in war and battle. And again I think we got the same vehicle. That's what they're called. And of course, is it a good vehicle or a bad vehicle? Well, it's God who's driving it. Just like a car. Alright.
Verse nine: "And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron." Not a priest—they claimed to be priests with the breastplate of a priest of God, but they don't have the twelve stones embedded therein for the twelve tribes and in respect and honor to Messiah Yeshua who would come. "And the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle." And there you have the same sound basically that old Ezekiel would describe in a little different way. But how can you tell? How do you know? By their fruits you shall know them.
So what does it mean? Well, it means that Satan and his troops are going to impress people mightily, pretending to be God's very own bringing peace, but at the same time rending souls to hell if the opportunity is given. But I bad—I mean turning their hearts and their Christianity to worship then that is to say their ruler Apollyon, which is Antichrist meaning instead of Jesus rather than the true Christ. And it is for that reason when Christ returns, He will say, "I don't know you. Get out of my sight." But I've healed in your name? "Out, I don't know you." So that's why it's very important.
Now that's kind of the bad news concerning these horses of the Bible—is that it would seem that the enemy has the opportunity to utilize them also. That's the way they hoofed it, so to speak. Alright, and I shouldn't use that old figure of speech—a lot of people wouldn't know what "to hoof it" meant. But that kind of meant like "new road, new road, Murphy's mule," which meant you walked. Okay, well they didn't walk, they had transportation.
No, that's not bad news, because I don't know about you, but as a student of God's Word, hey, I look forward to this day—this five-month period. I really do. Do you know why? Because it means the seventh Trump is about to sound, and it's all over. And God has already told him in verse 4, "Don't you dare, Satan, touch one of My anointed." And he won't until he does the two witnesses. And when he does that, he's finished—three days. That's all. Alright. Now that's the bad news if you were to consider it bad news. It isn't to me. It's good.
Now for the really good news about the horses of the Bible, turn with me to the 19th chapter of this great book of Revelation, and we're going to pick it up in the eleventh verse. And John the Revelator—Christ speaking through him—states: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war." Peace, peace for those that love Him, but war to our enemies. Christ is not returning to be crucified, but to rule and to make war with all our enemies. But to love those that love Him. Righteousness means He will do that that is right and just. If you have the seal in your forehead—God's Word—and you love Him and you believe, you're alright. Otherwise, I'm sorry, look out for the horses—they're coming.
Verse 12: "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns"—seven rolled into one—"and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself." How many know that? 13: "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood." Why? He died for us. And that vesture is splattered with blood also from war. "And his name is called"—do you want to know what his name is? "The Word of God." Are you familiar with it? Do you know His name? That's why I can proudly say at the end of each lecture, for Jesus is the Living Word. That's His name—the Word of God. That's the name He's called. And He's not coming back on an ass this time, which is a very humble animal. He's riding a white steed. And don't get in His way. You wouldn't want to. Rather be on His side, whereby He will embrace you.
Verse 14: "And the armies which were in heaven"—where were these armies? In heaven—"followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." And of course you that study with me know what that linen is symbolic of. These are those that washed their robes and the blood of the Lamb. And there—it's been, in fact this is the very chapter that tells you what is made up—the wife is in verse eight. She is arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints—that's the righteous acts of those that have served Him.
Alright. Verse fifteen: "And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword." It's called the Word. Alright. "Bet with it he shall smite the nations"—the word. "And he shall rule them with a rod of iron." Oh, sweet baby Jesus, never offend anyone even if they are your enemy? I said with a rod of iron. "And he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." Our Father is fed up with people trying to run over His children and those that believe, and He's going to have His time. He's going to have His day. And I got some good news for you: it's not very far off.
So you see the master of the horses of the Bible—the transportation that come from heaven bearing the souls, exactly as the transportation described by Ezekiel that carried the throne of God. 16: "And he had on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
So there we have it. The Word of God—horses of the Bible. Well, like I said, a very controversial subject, but it takes a great deal of the controversy out when you can back it up with the Word of God and understand. Yes, if God's throne is there, it needed transportation. Yes, if angelic beings came from heaven to this earth and impregnated women, yes they would need transportation. We know that for a fact—it would have to be. And so there is again the propulsion—how does it happen? Well, no one knows. I'm sure there are many that have ideas about it. I do. I can't help wondering about it at times, certainly. I don't make it a full-time meditation by any means, but I'm a curious heart. But I'm a realist, and I know these things that were reported in the Word of God are true. I know Ezekiel saw what he observed. I know that he did an excellent job of describing it, especially if you will put yourself in his shoes in that age with the knowledge that he had at that time. To do that, you subtract from your mind any flying vehicle you have ever seen, any mode of transportation with petrol utilized to push it or drive it, because they didn't exist at that time. And he did a fantastic job.
So are there chariots of God? Of course there are. The Bible speaks of them in many places. I thought it good that we talk on this subject. We're by, you could have an understanding in reality from God's Word, that you should expect things and understand the capability that our Father utilizes at times to be seen or not be seen, but to know that He is always righteous, that He does right by us. And if you love Him and you are trying, you have nothing to worry about. It's all good news.
I hope you've enjoyed this. Again, wouldn't it be wonderful if we knew exactly? We don't. But what a comfort it is to have the word that lets us at least see faintly through the veil and to know reality from imagination. Alright, bless your hearts.
Dr. Pastor Arnold B. Murray
**Pastor Arnold Murray / Questions and Answers:**
Evelyn: "Any help in anything with the by, please advise?" Well, listen—I do want to, without dating this particular thing, I want to say I love you all so much because of your participation. It's good to know—you know, we know we're never alone, but it's real good to know the number of God's children when they take on a task. It's fantastic. I just love every one of you.
And this is K from—where's K? Doesn't say where K is from, but you know, don't you dear? "Today I felt I had no way to go and was about to commit suicide. Ooh, I turned on the television and there you were. You saved my life." Well, the word does, darlin'. Okay? You're not alone. We're all with you, and God has a purpose for you. And I bet you've known it since you were a child that you had a destiny, a purpose in God's Word. You hang tough. Glad you turned that dude on. Alright.
Noor de nada—I hope I'm pronouncing that right, a pretty name. And let's see... well, anyway. "I've heard that the Holy Spirit is going to be taken away after the seventh trump." Is not true. Not true at all. I know that some people will tell you the Holy Spirit lives in second Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 7—when the Christians fly away, you know. Well, the Holy Spirit is with us always. He's with us always. He will never leave thee nor will He forsake us. Alright. That's His contact with us, and wherever the Father and the Son are—and the Son's coming here—there also is the Holy Spirit. So that—whoever told you that, steer, it just kind of leaves it in bad shape.
John from Arkansas: "I have a friend who thinks the sins of the father passes to the children. Please give Scripture for this." Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 29—that will help you somewhat. And then go ahead and go to the Book of Ezekiel and verses—well let's see, we just covered Ezekiel 1 concerning the vehicles and God giving strict orders of exactly what we were to do. And after chapter 2 and within chapter 2, 3, 4, and 5, He tells us what the teachers should do and what we should do—and that a father and a son, one can be good and the other bad. It's according to his deeds and whether he believes. A child never pays for the sins of the parents except it be a thing of flesh and birth defects sometimes caused by the use of say cocaine or some dumb drug. But I still have to know my Father is fair, and the soul that is there is real special and they can cut it.
Annette from Mississippi, the question: "My sister is saying that Abraham's father was an idol worshiper and I can't show her in Scripture. Please give me some so I can." Joshua 24—what is it? Verse 2. About verse 2. He was—he wasn't an idol worshiper, but that doesn't mean anything. The sins of the father don't fall off on the child. Many of the great patriarchs down through time worshiped idols and then converted back to the Father, and there's nothing new under the sun. People do it today. Some people will come to a church and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, and then something happens in their life and they fall away a little at a time until they're producing—they're worshipping self or something or some job or some booze or some crack or something else—that some people seems they would rather find their spirits in a bottle than they would in the word. And that's a very damaging thing. So there's nothing new under the sun. It still happens today, and then they may come back. Alright. God is fair whatever the case.
Bobby from Ohio: "Concerning the woman that was brought to Jesus for committing adultery, why wasn't the man who was part of the same action brought before Christ also?" He probably was. That's why Jesus wrote—bent over and began to write in the sand. And He bent over and He wrote right there, "John, you were with this old gal, and here you want these people to stone her, and you're the one that should be stoned." And John ran—he was gone. Okay. And then He got old Mike. "Hey Mike, you know remember last week when you were with that other woman? Not this one, another one." There went Mike. You know, I'm pretty sitting there—wasn't anybody there. And Jesus looked at the woman and said, "Where are your accusers?" She said, "I don't believe I got any." Okay. And He says, "Well, neither do I. Go and sin no more." So Jesus is always fair. Bobby, don't worry. He got him. He fixed him good.
James from North Carolina: "I need your help. My daughter told me that I broke one of the Ten Commandments because I served in the military and had to kill the enemy. This really bothers me and I don't know what to tell her, or even if I'm guilty. Do you have an answer?" Boy, do I have an answer. You know sometimes when these people get religion, they're more trouble than they're worth, aren't they, James? I tell you, they get religion and everything is a sin. You know, they lose their common sense—some of them—because they don't study under a scholar of God's Word. James, take Matthew chapter 5 where Jesus stipulates—it's strange how often this comes up—but a military hero and all people that serve in combat are heroes. I don't care who you are, and for because we owe them a lot. It just so happens that I was fortunate or unfortunate enough, whichever the case might be, that I had to serve in the military. Oh, I didn't have to—I volunteered. Alright, I was ready. Alright. Well, it's not as much fun sometimes as we might think, and destroying those that would pursue our way—but it must be done.
Anyway, in Matthew 5, Jesus said, "I don't change one jot, one tittle of the law. Stays the same." And the law is from Deuteronomy 19: that's what must happen to him because the soul he took away is with the Father. And the Father says, "Vengeance is mine, and don't feel guilty or bad about it because it's all on Me. I'll take care of you." Well, in this great nation and since Israel was in it, we've always had to protect ourselves. It was God's order to protect our women, our children, our men, our way to serve God. Otherwise, if your daughter keeps listening to some fluffball—apparently she's listening to that order to make a lot of points with her—shouldn't it? But old Marines can only talk about one way and that straight, right head-on. She's been listening to the fluffball, and I can't hardly stand fluffballs unless they're converted to be men and women and children of God instead of some limbered noodle-bodied fluffball. Well, there you go calling names—not that, hey, that's the reality. That's what they are. Alright. They wouldn't protect themselves or anyone else. You did, James, and you did it for her. We're by—we don't have—you know, if these people could see what some of the dictators that we have fought against and some of the communist nations the way they treated those people, they would fall down on their knees and thank God for every man and woman that had ever defended this country, that we have the rights and the freedoms of religion and speech and life that we have in this great nation. You'd be proud, and you tell your daughter that you're happy that you were able to serve this country that she has the freedom to even be a fluffball if she wants to be. Tell her I said that.
Woman from Connecticut—she didn't give her name: "Sometimes I fall short of God's expectations and I feel real bad because I let Him down." Welcome to the club, dear. There's not a human being that doesn't fall short. Not one. So welcome to the club. You're not alone. "I go to a church and all I hear is salvation over and over. I keep going to the altar but I don't feel like I'm growing. What should I do?" You see, my dear friends, the woman didn't give her a name, but hon, I'm gonna tell you something. I apologize for the Christian community—two groups that all they can teach is salvation. You could have been saved thirty years ago. If you go there, that's all you're going to hear is a salvation message. It's a sin against Christ, and that's documented in the fifth and sixth chapters of Hebrews—the book of Hebrews—because you can only be saved one time. And after that, hon, repent. You don't have to go to the altar to repent. He knows what you're thinking. Repent to Him and you'll start feeling better real soon. Keep studying God's Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse with this chapel. And I'm not knocking your church, I want you to know that. I guess they just don't know any better. Okay. So let the Father know you love Him. Alright.
Chuck from West Virginia: "My wife and I would like to know how and why the biblical verse numbering system came to be. God bless you for the truths that you teach." Well, let's go to the very beginning. Actually, when God told Ezra and Nehemiah to put the scriptures in order, basically that's when it happened—was during their period of time. Okay.
Lois from Kentucky: "Who wrote the book of Hebrews? Can you document why?" It isn't difficult to document if you're a student of God's Word. You know Paul wrote it. Paul has written all over it. The reason probably you're questioning this—and probably some would-be scholar was questioning it—is they don't stop and think. Paul, when he wrote to the Hebrews—that means the people that crossed the river—the Hebrews, he was a scholar in the Hebrew, so his style changed. He didn't have to use street Greek or colloquial Greek when he writes in Greek in the other books. But in the book of Hebrews, he was very precise because he was well educated and that he studied at the feet of Gamaliel, a great Hebrew scholar, a scholar that documented that he practiced God's Word by his decision concerning a thing at one time. So Paul is written all over it, but he wasn't writing to the Greeks, the Hellenists—I will say if you're a scholar—he was writing to the Hebrew children. So naturally the style was a little different. If I'll say this, Lois, and this is the only documentation I'm going to give you: do you write the same letter to your wife that you do to your friend? I don't think so. A letter is written to a group of people, and you must rightly divide the word of God, and it's very important that you divide who is it written to, and then you'll know by whom. Basically.
Kyle from Virginia: "My wife left me. I just want to know what I can do about it." Well, that's not that—that doesn't give me much to work with here, Kyle. I have to say why—you know, to counsel people you must know both sides. And I'll play with this just a little bit. Do not be offended. Alright. Maybe for all I know, you beat her up every Saturday night. I pray you didn't. But I'm saying, do you see where this leaves me? Well, if you did that, I don't blame her for leaving. Alright. But let's say—let's go the extreme of this—let's say there could be a case of where maybe she was a butterfly and kind of had a hard time—I don't want to say this, do ya—staying on one flower. I'll say alright, she just kind of flops around awhile. Hey, Lord, Lord, and Arnold's gonna dig a hole so deep he can't get out of it here. I just—I'm trying to explain through analogy how it would be impossible for me to give you advice because I don't know who did what, and I know both of you probably are guilty. So I'll leave it with this. I assume you want her back because you say you don't know what to do about it. How did you get her the first time? I bet one day you walked by and there she was—it's beautiful, it was love maybe at first sight. And when you started opening car doors for her, saying "Sweetheart, sugar, get right in there," opening here—"Honey, let me carry that for you." And then after that maybe you would say, "Honey, if that's too heavy for you, make two trips." Alright. So you gotta get her back just like you did the first time. Now you see I've thrown some blind advice out because I have no idea what the situation is, but maybe that's called the old scattergun technique of counsel. Some were maybe a few shots hit the mark, and it'll have you—kept her. We'll be praying for you. Alright. I don't know—yes, I heard an old song one time, "Thank God in Greyhound she is gone." So, you know, see what I mean? I don't know.
Eric from Wisconsin: "I enjoy your teaching very much. I like that you are bold in your teaching and would just like to say thank you." Well, you're sure welcome. You know, I'm a very honest person, and boldness when you are well-studied doesn't mean you're proud, it means you pretty well are sure. I take my teaching so serious that I do my homework to the point that I'm well convinced in my own mind what the word says, so I can be bold in that by making a declaration rather than "well, maybe on this hand and maybe on that hand." You're not like today's lecture—of having to admit there's a lot we don't know about this Flying Saucer business, you know. And if I'm ever teaching something I don't know a whole lot about, I'm gonna let you know. And there could be—I know a lot more about it than I'm saying. So do you see what I mean? You know, a good teacher's got to keep people guessing just a little bit.
Marilyn—I'm jesting now—Marilyn from—don't know where—we're from: "In the Bible, does it say that it is wrong for a husband to beat his wife?" Ephesians chapter 5 verse 28—I want you to have your husband read it. And if that doesn't straighten him out, the next time he hits you, you tell him that Pastor Murray has a five-pound fist, stands six-foot-four, and weighs 250 pounds, and he's going to skin his bark if he doesn't start being sweet to the woman he loves. Alright. That's a bad thing. Alright. Read it to him—Ephesians chapter 5 verse 28—I think you'll be glad you did. Okay. And am I jesting with him? Well, he doesn't know, does he? And would I? Well, I've never—I've never been in favor of a man beating his wife, and yep, I probably would. You know, it would maybe make him grow up a little bit. God didn't create woman for a man to beat.
