📖🔥 Summary of Pastor Arnold Murray’s Bible Study: “Tongues According to Scripture” 🔥📖

Pastor Arnold Murray presents a detailed, verse-by-verse Bible study on the subject of tongues, emphasizing that Scripture—not church tradition or human opinion—must define what tongues truly are. His teaching focuses primarily on Mark 13, Acts 2, Joel 2, and Revelation 17, showing that biblical tongues were miraculous, understandable languages given by the Holy Spirit for witnessing and testimony.

📜 God's Word Brings Clarity, Not Confusion

✨ Pastor Murray stresses that believers should always return to the Bible itself for answers.

📖 1 Corinthians 14:33

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace..."

According to this teaching:

✅ God's truth is understandable.
✅ The Holy Spirit communicates clearly.
✅ Confusion and disorder are not characteristics of God's work.

Believers are encouraged to test every doctrine against Scripture rather than accepting popular traditions without examination.

🕊️ What Does “Tongues” Mean?

The Greek word for tongues is:

📚 γλῶσσαι (glōssai)

Meaning:

🗣️ Language
🗣️ Tongue
🗣️ Dialect

Pastor Murray explains that in the Bible, tongues refer to real languages that can be understood, not unintelligible sounds or speech without meaning.

The miracle was not confusion—it was perfect communication.

🔥 Pentecost: The Great Demonstration of the Holy Spirit

📖 Acts 2:1-13

On the Feast of Pentecost:

🕊️ The Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles.

🔥 Cloven tongues like fire appeared.

🌎 Jews and visitors from many nations had gathered in Jerusalem.

Then something extraordinary happened:

Each person heard the disciples speaking in his own native language and dialect.

Nations Mentioned

🌍 Parthians
🌍 Medes
🌍 Elamites
🌍 Mesopotamians
🌍 Egyptians
🌍 Arabs
🌍 Romans
🌍 People from Asia Minor and beyond

The crowd was amazed because:

"We do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God."

Every listener understood perfectly.

No translator was required.

No confusion existed.

The Holy Spirit spoke directly in the language each person knew best.

📖 Fulfillment of Joel’s Prophecy

📖 Book of Joel 2:28-32

Peter explained that Pentecost fulfilled Joel's prophecy:

✨ God would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.

👨 Sons and daughters would prophesy.

👴 Old men would dream dreams.

👦 Young men would see visions.

🔥 Wonders would appear in heaven and earth.

Pastor Murray teaches that Pentecost was a visible confirmation that God's promised Spirit had arrived.

⚖️ End-Time Testimony Before Rulers

📖 Mark 13:9-11

Jesus taught:

When believers are delivered before councils and rulers, they should not premeditate what to say.

Instead:

🕊️ The Holy Spirit will speak through them.

Pastor Murray connects this prophecy with end-time events described in:

📖 Book of Revelation 17

He teaches that God's elect will provide supernatural testimony during the final deception and that the Holy Spirit will speak exactly what needs to be said.

This testimony will be:

✅ Perfect
✅ Authoritative
✅ Understood by those who hear it

🌍 Dialects Matter

A major point in this study is that Acts uses language describing specific dialects and forms of speech.

The miracle was not random sounds.

Rather:

🎯 God knew every listener's native language.

🎯 The Holy Spirit communicated in the exact dialect each person understood.

🎯 The message was clear and unmistakable.

This demonstrates God's omniscience and supernatural ability to communicate perfectly.

🕊️ The Gentiles Receive the Same Gift

Acts 10:44-46

While Peter preached to Gentiles:

🕊️ The Holy Spirit fell upon them.

🗣️ They spoke with tongues.

🙌 They magnified God.

Acts 11:15

Peter later confirmed:

The Spirit fell on them "as on us at the beginning."

Pastor Murray teaches this was the same Pentecost-type manifestation extending God's blessing beyond Israel to believing Gentiles.

⚠️ Warning Against Misunderstanding Tongues

Pastor Murray strongly argues that genuine biblical tongues should reflect the pattern found in Acts:

✅ Understandable languages
✅ Clear communication
✅ Divine purpose
✅ Witnessing and testimony

He cautions believers to compare every spiritual experience against Scripture rather than emotion, tradition, or popular opinion.

🙏 Practical Lessons for Christians Today

📖 Study God's Word Personally

Don't depend solely on teachers.

Search Scripture yourself.

🕊️ Seek Understanding

God's truth produces peace and confidence.

⚔️ Be Prepared for Witnessing

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to testify faithfully when needed.

🚫 Reject Confusion

Anything claiming divine authority should be tested against God's Word.

🙌 Trust God's Guidance

The same Spirit who empowered believers in Acts continues to guide God's people according to His will.

✨ Conclusion

🔥 According to Pastor Arnold Murray's teaching, the tongues spoken on Pentecost were real, understandable languages and dialects miraculously spoken through the power of the Holy Spirit. The purpose was to communicate God's truth clearly, bear witness to His power, and equip believers for testimony during critical moments of God's plan.

📖 The lesson encourages Christians to remain grounded in Scripture, discern truth carefully, and trust the Holy Spirit's guidance rather than confusion or tradition.

📡✞ 🗣🔥 Tongues:

All right, good day to you. God bless you. Say welcome to the Shepherd's Chapel. Welcome to this family Bible study.

You know, one of the probably most asked questions that we receive has to do—in or about—tongues. So we're going to discuss tongues today. And being a teacher, there's only one way I know how to teach, and that is from the Word of God. At least let me put it this way: that's the only way I will teach. And I think when questions arise, we should go to the Word. I don't care what Brother So-and-So says or Great-Grandpa or anyone else. It's what your true Father, Almighty God, has to say about tongues.

Now we know that, and first I want to say this is not to offend anyone. I don't care what people do; you can still be my friend whether we agree or not. And I certainly do not insist that everyone believe the way I do. But I will caution you: you should believe your Father's Word when you witness that through more than one Scripture, and that that is natural, applies to it in the way our Father created things. Anything that feels very uncomfortable—and always remember, your Father, and this is very scriptural, is the author of peace, not confusion. When something confuses, analyze it. It is the natural way, or nature's way, of telling you either you don't understand or something's wrong. So you take a look at it.

Now, with that in mind, let's go to the place where Christ said that the Holy Spirit would speak through man. Let's start with that. Is there such a thing? Well, naturally, there is such a thing as the Holy Spirit speaking through man. But why, when, and where? If you don't have those answers, the Four W's—when you've accomplished the Four W's, you've taught on a subject. So always, when you're analyzing something, ask yourself those questions as you do your research, and you will be more pleased with the outcome thereof, most likely.

Does the Holy Spirit speak through man? Let's go to the thirteenth chapter of Mark, which is a chapter concerning that time that God's elect will be delivered up to the synagogue of Satan, as it is written in Revelation 2:9, as a witness, as a testimony. And let us absorb what happens there, okay? And we will answer the question: will the Holy Spirit speak through man? That's what we're going for.

Let's hit it, chapter thirteen, verse nine. The great Book of Mark—a word of wisdom from our Father in Jesus' name. Let's go with it. It reads: "But take heed to yourselves"—that's Christ saying be real careful—"for they shall deliver you up to counsels; and in the synagogues you shall be beaten; and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake"—Christ teaching—"for My sake, for a testimony against them." That being the prime reason for one being delivered up. Now this beating, in as much as the spurious Messiah is playing Savior or Jesus, it's browbeaten in a sense to try to beat you spiritually, to reason with you for perhaps I err—and not telling you.

Chapter 13 is where Jesus was taken: "What's it going to be like when you return?" And He gave seven—He gave seven events that would transpire. And these events we're reading are part of those seven signs, the same as it is in the Book of Revelation of how it would be at the very end. All right, that in itself fixes the time.

Verse ten: "And the gospel must first be published among all nations." So it's apparent that these trials will be public trials before the spurious Messiah of God's elect that will not accept him.

Verse eleven: "But when they shall lead you and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand"—that means do not premeditate what you shall speak, neither do you premeditate, and he states it—"but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour"—there again is a time with the when. All right, the when is in the hour of temptation, of course. In that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost"—or the Holy Spirit, *pneuma*. You know what the Holy Spirit is? It's the Spirit of our Father, and He's speaking through us and bringing that testimony and that witness in the true Gospel. It is even written in the Book of Luke, chapter 21, that even the gainsayers—that is to say, those that would try to witness against us—would be convinced by what was said, why it will be God speaking through the Holy *Pneuma*, the Holy Spirit.

So the answer to the question, "Will the Holy Spirit speak through people?" That's absolute. But now we know when it happens. Also, in this particular case, it happens in the hour of temptation. That can be documented from the 17th chapter of Revelation, along about verse eight, seven, eight, or nine, where the Son of Perdition comes to power but one hour, and this is his synagogue you're delivered up to. So who? Another one of the W's. So it's interesting, and the answer being yes, the Holy Spirit will speak through man. We know at the very last hour, when the false Messiah is on earth and God's chosen—His elect—not that they are super-special, but that they overcame at another time, they were called for that purpose because God knew He could trust them, as it is written in Ephesians 1 (for a different subject, for a different time)—they were chosen before the foundations of this earth.

So answer: yes, the Holy Spirit speaks through people. Now we have what would naturally be said: well, why then, if this particular tongue or speech that we're not to premeditate—that means don't even think about what you would say when delivered up, that the Spirit would take care of that—then what happened? And on the when, that would be the last hour, what happened back on that Pentecost day? What happened that day that they would say, "Are these men drunk?" Well, let's go there and find out. Let's don't go by what men say; let's go to the Word itself and let us analyze and let us understand. Naturally, that would be in Acts chapter 2. Let us go there: Acts, the second chapter, and we're going to take it to Pentecost day.

Again, I want to caution: I believe what God's Word teaches. I know from my life's experience and many, many, many thousands of hours of research that God's Word is true, and you should always listen to God's Word and not man, because man doesn't judge you—God does. So you want to pay strict attention, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, and line by line, and not let man deceive you, as Christ would urge you. And so what I'm saying is not pointed in any direction but simply so that we have the question answered for those that wish to make a deeper study on the subject of tongues of the Bible, so that they are educated from God's Word, not man's.

We know that in the first chapter of Acts, that Christ stayed after the resurrection approximately 40 days and visited with the Apostles and disciples and told them not to leave Jerusalem until they received the gift that would be sent them. And of course, that gift would be the Holy Spirit. We pick that up if we could in Acts chapter 2 and verse 1. Let's just let it flow and listen to God's Word and not man's.

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come"—that means when the *penta* (five) *cost* (the fiftieth day) rather was fully come—"they were all with one accord in one place." In other words, they've come in for the Feast of Pentecost, and people would gather to Jerusalem from all over the known world at that time and from all areas. We here in America are very blessed that we can drive 3,000 miles and the language is still the same. But in most countries, especially in the Middle East at this time, you didn't have to go three city blocks until it was a totally different language. So we're very fortunate here. So at the gathering of Pentecost, they would have people of many tongues, many languages present.

Verse two: "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind." And of course, remember in the Hebrew, wind is *Ruach*, the Spirit. All right, so this is the Spirit moving, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. He's talking about God's elect here. Where they were sitting, the Spirit touched them and they were filled.

Then verse three reads: "And there appeared"—I repeat, *there appeared*—"unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them." Now this was a one-time thing where visibly God would use this particular vision so that they could see what was happening to them. *Cloven* means going out in many, many directions. The Greek word that is translated "cloven" here means distributed. But I want to take this word *tongues*. I want you to know what the Greek word is that was utilized here in the manuscripts—the Greek word that the writer of the Apostles would bring forth that you could understand what we're talking about.

First, I want you to note: there is no "unknown" about this. The word "unknown" is not a part of it. And in as much as it's distributed, you're going to find it's quite the contrary. So if we may, let's call up the Greek word "tongues" as it is utilized in the Word of God, and hopefully you're going to have it there on your screen in a moment, and we'll see what tongues—how it reads in the Greek. And perhaps we don't have it; I'll say that we don't, or maybe we will show it to you in a moment. Let me just tell you: here we go. It's *glossa*. *Glossa*—it's of uncertain affinity; a tongue, by implication a language, especially one naturally unacquired.

So you see, we are talking about not the tongue of your mouth but the *language* of your mouth, and the fact that it is in many directions. Wonder what that would mean? Well, it's important that you know first of all where we have all these languages pulled together, to be able to communicate as a witness. Then certainly we have an interesting subject. Let's listen to the Spirit as we continue.

Then in verse 4, it reads: "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues"—or in other languages. Again, the word "unknown" is not mentioned here for a special reason—not my word, God's word. "With other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." Who caused them to utter? The Holy Spirit caused them to come forth with utterances.

Verse 5: "And they were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews"—*Judeans*, this means—"many devout men out of every nation" (*ethnos*) "in every tongue under heaven." They were men from every dialect, every language from all over. This is important for you to know.

Verse 6: "Now when this was noised"—when the word was passed abroad—"the multitude came together." That means all these people with every different language came together and were confounded, stunned, because that every man heard them—I repeat, *heard them*—speak in his own language.

Now we don't have an interpreter here, and now you get the Greek word that it was cloven, meaning that it was distributed, because it was being distributed in more than one language at one time. Now it's important in your research that you know what this word "his own language" is. The word "language" in the Greek—because it really says more in the Greek than it does in the English. Because there's more to "your own language." We speak English in many parts of the world, but certainly dialect has a great deal to do with identifying where someone is from, and God is being very specific here.

So let's call up, if we may, the Greek word that was translated "language" in the English, and it is *dialektos*. *Dialektos*—does it sound familiar? It's almost the same as the English. It comes from the primary 1256; a mode of discourse, dialect. In other words, it's translated "language" or "tongue." This is the reason I wanted to bring this point out: from the Greek, *dialektos*—it's the same as our word "dialect" in the English. That not only did they hear their language, but they heard it in the *dialect* in which they spoke. Like if it was Southern Jew, it was "y'all." I mean, they could really—it was in their own local dialect.

Now we see here the miracle of the Holy Spirit at work. Within this, we have many people from around the world that speak English, but there are many different dialects. But the miracle of the Spirit—again, nothing unknown about this. It was clearly heard in their own dialect, and this is what stunned them. Listen: "Hey, look here, this bunch of Nazarene country boys come in here, and now they're speaking the same dialect I do!" That's shocking. All right, and they were stunned.

Okay, we continue on then with verse seven: "And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, 'Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?'" I mean, look at their dress; we've heard them; they're Galileans. They're new-all boys.

Verse 8: "And how hear we"—now listen carefully, this is God's Word, not mine—"every man in our own language, our own tone, our own dialect, wherein we were born?" In other words, they're talking—they're from Nazareth, but they're talking just like we talk in downtown Bethlehem, same dialect. Maybe it was a totally different language, but still in their dialect. That is the evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Again, I caution you: they heard it, they understood it, each and every person there. There was nothing unknown about it. The Holy Spirit then—make note—when the Holy Spirit speaks through a person, it is a language that is heard in every dialect of the world, in whatever language they may speak. That, my friend, no man can fake. That is the evidence of the presence of Almighty God through the Holy Spirit, that He is utilizing this person. If it sounds anything different than that, then it is obvious that the Holy Spirit is not present, because the mark—I'm talking about this specific tongue, the Pentecostal Day tongue—the evidence is that it must be heard in the neighborhood in which you were born and raised, of every language of the world, all at one time. Example: picture someone at the United Nations that would get up to speak, and you wouldn't need an interpreter. Everyone there would hear it in their own tongue, as they were gathered in from around the world, as they were in this case here.

Now perhaps that if the Word of God offends someone, then if I were you, I would pray about it a great deal and look at it, and believe God and not this man or any other man. But believe God. That's what the Word says. Nothing unknown about it.

Well, how do we know there were different peoples there? We'll give Him a chance to declare it. Verse 9: "Parthians" (that's people from India), "and Medes" (the middle land), "and Elamites" (meaning Eternity), "and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and in Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia" (that would be the Orient itself). We've got so many—the Turkish Empire, all of Asia—we've got so many different languages piled in here, and we're just starting. Verse 10: "Phrygia" (that is Asia Minor), "and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome" (the Roman dialect), "Jews and proselytes" (that's to say not only those of the tribe of Judah but many bigoted proselytes added). Libya, of course, being from Africa—excluding Egypt, but Egypt there through the Pamphylia—and we see that they're all there, all these languages. And we're not through. Verse 11: "Cretes" (from Greece), "and Arabians" (all the Arabian chiefs and camps). "We do hear them speak"—we do hear what? Unknown? Couldn't understand? No, Pentecost: "We do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God."

This was an example, as you're going to find as we continue our study. This is the work that was done on Pentecost, but it was only an example of what—well, we'll find out. Verse 12: "And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, 'What meaneth this?'" Certainly, they've never seen anything like that before. Verse 13: "Others mocking said"—you know, there are some people, if they can't understand something, they got to make their own miserable excuse up—"These men are full of new wine." It must be what it is.

Verse 14: "But Peter, standing up with the eleven" (that's the replacement of Judas, Matthias), "lifted up his voice and said unto them, 'Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words.'" No words—I'm going to explain it to you. Verse 15: "For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day." In other words, it was only nine o'clock in the morning, and it was against God—it was against the law of the land for the holy day, the feast day, to imbibe early in the day that the spew brings it forth.

Verse 16: He explains it then. "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel." Now certainly that shouldn't be difficult to understand. And the term "this is that"—you with companion Bibles, you have an entire appendix on that one little phrase. "This is that" is a metaphor that means "this is an example of what Joel the prophet was speaking of." When Joel said what? Well, he'll tell us.

Verse 17: "And it shall come to pass in the last days." Again, there's the time element. Not until the last days, when that hour of temptation, saith God, "I will pour out of My Spirit"—that's the Holy Spirit—"upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters..." You know, if you don't think that God intends to use the female, then hey, you got sad trouble, because especially in the last days He specifically brings out: daughters shall prophesy, that means teach, and to prophesy the Word of God with the Holy Spirit coming from the woman's mouth. Hey, if you don't like it, then just don't accept it and lump and continue confusing yourself. But if you believe God's Word, lace it up, put it on, and wear it, because it fits. It's going to happen. It is prophecy, and it shall happen. Your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And they do, some of them even during church service. But be that as it may, I jest, and I shouldn't.

God will use His elect, the Holy Spirit, as it was written in Mark 13 in the last days. That is to say when the spurious Messiah here is here and we are delivered up, and the miracle to the world will be—whoever is listening, I have no doubt in my own mind these trials will be televised around the world—they're not going to need an interpreter. And that is the miracle of the presence of God through the Holy Spirit that will people will know and understand it is from God. Not some unknown thing, but just the opposite from God's Word that that is known and heard, whereby no one has an excuse to say "I didn't understand it because it wasn't in my dialect."

Verse 18: "And on My servants and on My handmaidens" (that's female, for some of you reverence) "I will pour out in those days of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy." It's written, you'll read it. It's written in Mark 13, it's written in Matthew 24, it's written in Luke 21, it's written in the Book of Joel. It wasn't unknown. If you want to know what they spoke on Pentecost day, go to the Book of Joel and read it. It's all laid out for you: what they said, the marvelous, glorious, wonderful works of God that was mentioned back in the eleventh verse of this chapter by all those foreigners or foreign tongues, you want to say that again. It's real simple to know what they spoke on Pentecost day. It was that example that Joel the prophet (among the minor prophets) gave us that all these would marvel and think it was the wonderful works of God that were mentioned in the eleventh verse of this same chapter we just read.

Verse 19: And God continues—and this is a quote from Joel—"And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor and smoke." These are signs within the end times, and you that have studied with me know what those signs are.

Verse 20: "The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come." Again, you have the time that this tongue will be spoken nailed down flat and firm. There should be—there is no room for confusion. Again, I caution you: listen to God's Word and not man's. I don't care how many preachers have told you that this Pentecost tongue was unknown. I don't care how many times you have heard it from whoever or whomever. It's God's Word. It states it was just the opposite of unknown: that it was in the very dialect or brogue of whatever person heard it that was born, regardless of who the speaker was, because it was not the speaker that spoke but the Holy Spirit. God's got your number, friend. He's got your dialect. He knows how you hear. That's why the miracle cannot be copied or conned or made up by man. It is so crystal clear that no one is without excuse of understanding the Scripture of God.

Verse 21: "And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Yes, even up to that last hour.

Now, that was on Pentecost day. Did it happen again? Of course it did. Turn with me, if you would, to the tenth chapter of this great Book of Acts. Then let us analyze. Let us see what God's Word says, not this man or any other man. And if you would, turn into that tenth chapter. Listen, let's begin with verse 44 and listen carefully. Remember, they've gone out now on their teaching.

Verse 44: "While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost"—it's really the Holy Spirit in the Greek, okay—"the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the word." What does that mean?

Verse 45: "And they of the circumcision" (that means of Israel) "which believed were astonished" (I mean, here we got Gentiles doing it) "as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit." Well, how could Gentiles have this? Well, they're all God's children.

All right, verse 46: now listen to the word carefully, "For they heard them"—this is what I want you to know—what did they hear? "They heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 'Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Spirit—the Holy Ghost—as well as we?'" In other words, they received the same—I repeat, the same—as they did. When did Peter receive his? On Pentecost day. Christ told him, "Don't leave Jerusalem; stay there till you receive it." So it was exactly like that. They spoke on Pentecost day, which means what? The voice that is heard in every dialect of the world, and no man can copy it. It's lead-pipe—there's nothing unknown about it.

Okay, listen. While we're doing so well, let's go to the 15th verse of the 11th chapter. What does it say on another occasion? As Peter, as he begins to explain this to a group, and the 15th verse of chapter 11 of the Book of Acts reads: "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning." How did it fall on them at the beginning? Isn't that complicated? I don't think it's complicated at all. I don't know how anyone can confuse it. The Holy Spirit fell on them exactly the same. In other words, the tongue on Pentecost day—thus being called the Pentecost tongue—it was heard in every language of the world, and no man can fake that.

Now I know that the truth sometimes really upsets people because they have heard so much from man. Well, I could say, "But by the grace of God, there go I." What's important is what the Word of God says, what the Word of God teaches. And hey, like it or lump it, friend, you'd better be in accord with God, or you're in accord with a master of confusion, which is to say Satan. And not necessarily because you want to follow Satan, but because he has you confused.

So I love all of God's children, but I am a teacher of the Word, and I teach it as it is written to the very best of my ability with the unction of the Holy Spirit. I have a very close walk with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has helped me in my drive to teach God's Word with clarity and understanding, to cause the Word of God to come alive whereby children, adults, anyone can understand the simplicity in which God's Word was written in the original languages.

You see the example: the word "language" as we transferred that was translated into English as "language," we found out was *dialektos*, *dialect*, which means it was even more specific than simply a language. They talked in the same dialect as the county that the old boys were born in, emphasizing clarity and the simplistic way in which God teaches, giving everyone that equal chance to hear and to understand.

So there you have the tongue of Pentecost. Now in the next setting, we're going to go into a different book, and we're going to go where the word "tongues" is used again, and see if we can have clarity and understanding of what is spoken of there. And I assure you, I don't want to disappoint you; you will find example in Corinthians 14 in your King James "unknown tongues." But you will notice that the word "unknown" is italicized, which means man added it with the assumption that it would carry over better into the English, that it would be understood better. So prepare yourself for the next setting, for the next lecture. Always believe God's Word, and I pray that you're not offended by God's Word, for if you are, you really have a problem. I find God's Word rewarding, comforting, and certainly keeping everyone in the will of God and receiving His blessings. So never, never allow God's Word to make you angry, or indeed you're out of God's will and His blessings, and it will show in your own life. Think about it.

Once you—I love everyone. I'm only a teacher, and teaching God's Word I so enjoy because it is so beautiful, and His works are so wonderful. Think about it: that on that day, everyone will hear the voice of the Holy Spirit giving those wonderful words as Joel the prophet told us, in that tongue that has the evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit, which is to say it was understood in every dialect, in every language of the world. Think about it. Great days coming.

All right, bless your hearts. You listen a moment once you please. Free introductory package. Say this is something we would like to offer for a one-time gift to all the new folks that study with us. This introductory package gives you a monthly newsletter—which means each month you will receive a newsletter with a Bible study on—we're not beggars; we're Bible teachers—that's what it consists of. A tape catalog that will give you all the topics that are covered, and the "Mark of the Beast" tape. What is this mark of the beast? Is it really on your forehead? No. Satan's considerably more intelligent than that. It's *in* your forehead, which is to say in your mind. Have you been deceived? This is a free offer to you one time to each new student, saying find out what's really happening and what the story is on the mark of the beast. All right, bless your hearts.

There we are, back again. Let's have the 800 number: 1-864-346-458. You know what that number is? Good from Puerto Rico throughout the U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, all over Canada. If the Spirit moves and you have a question, share it. We can no longer answer all questions because we're in over a hundred million homes, considerably over, around the world today. And certainly we'll take a handful—who knows. Those of you that do listen by shortwave around the world, your announcer at the end of the hour will give you our mailing address. If you got a prayer request, He's your Father. You know what? He really loves you. I don't care what you're doing; you may not love what you're doing, but He loves you because you're His child, and He wants you to hear His Word. Let Him know that you love Him and talk directly to Him, because He is your Father. He has feelings, He has emotions, and we hurt Him sometimes. Don't do that. Let Him know that you love Him. Make His day, won't you?

Father, around the globe we come. We ask that You lead, guide, direct, touch, and heal in Yahshua's precious name. Amen.

Okay, let's see what we have here. This is Faye from Georgia: "If my husband and children will not listen when I tell them about prayers that my Lord has answered for me, or when I tell them about Jesus and things I learn from you and the Bible, should I keep trying, or should I just stop trying to tell them?" Well, don't you know you can never force someone to hear a truth? And you can really do harm if you—and I will use what they will take it as so that you can clearly understand—as long as you harp about it. Now I'm not saying you were harping about it; I'm saying that's what it seems to them. And to teach someone, you must always, always put yourself in that person's position, or you're not going to be a very good teacher. And if they think you're harping at them, you're simply driving them farther away from the Word of God and from hearing you. All right, so you plant a seed and live the example before the family. And sooner or later, one of them might stump a toe or something that would cause a little pain, and they're going to come to Mama, and they're going to ask for some advice, and then you plant more seeds. All right, but be gentle. Unfortunately, some of us are like, um, when we're working in a flower bed, instead of using the finesse of a little hand tool, we act like a D8 bulldozer and plow right through. So be careful, be patient.

Wonder from Georgia said: "Two of every kind went into the ark, including all peoples." In the Book of Peter, God waited patiently—only eight souls were saved. Eight. Only eight of Adamic souls. The whole idea was the daughters of Adam—go back to Genesis chapter 6, verse 1 and 2: daughters of Adam. Why? Because Christ would come through that, and He didn't want that crossed with a bunch of Nephilim hybrids. All right, their pedigree was perfect. Well, why do you use that word "pedigree"? Because God did—the word "generations" as it is used, the prime in the Hebrew, is that Noah and his family were the only ones that hadn't cross-bred with the Nephilim. Thus, He saved those eight Adamic souls. There were others on the ark. All right, so sometimes you just have to think a little deeper on these things.

P.G. from California: "When planting seeds, do you plant seeds with everyone, or only the ones the Father wants you to? And how close are we to the return of Christ?" We're closing in on it one day at a time. It's not that far. Okay, God—you pray about these things and discern from the Holy Spirit the right time and the right place. You don't go around pushing yourself off and your thoughts on everybody. I could say it a little differently, and then a lot of people would misunderstand. I could say God's not ready for everyone to see just at this moment the in-depth truths. But if someone approaches you and asks, yes.

Louise from Georgia—home—we've got a lot of Georgia people calling in here: "Would you please tell me why we are not to go by the preaching of the rapture? I have searched in my Bible and cannot find anything on the rapture. I can on the Millennium, and I enjoy Brother Murray's teachings. I would like to know—have your tape?" Okay, well, I don't preach on the rapture, and that's because of the same reason you had when you were researching: I couldn't find the word in the Bible. And the place where most people think it is in 1st Thessalonians 4, the subject is where the dead are. It has nothing to do with that. And then Christ telling how and when we all gather back together—the word "rapture" is not there. And the word "air" as it is used in that 4th chapter is the word "breath of life," meaning the spirit and the soul when we meet Him in the spiritual body. And they take that as "whoosh"—I don't know. It's real sad that people take the teachings of others rather than doing a little research on their own. I guess they like to be deceived, and unfortunately it's very sad, because the deceived soul could be a lost soul even though it thinks it might be saved.

Angela from North Carolina: "When a person dies, can his or her spirit come and go from heaven to earth?" No, not unless God allows it, and it is always—if it should—has a purpose. Usually to meet a loved one at the transition of death to take them to the Father. That's not biblical; that is my observations as a pastor having been at many death beds.

Chris from Oklahoma: "I'm a new Christian, and I believe that Jesus will keep me and protect me, but my family tells me that I shouldn't say things like that because the devil will attack me, that I shouldn't take it for granted that God will always protect me. Is that true?" Well, God likes for people to use common sense, Chris. And a girl like yourself, by not using common sense, could have her in a place where she's in great danger, and that isn't a matter—God doesn't like stupid people. All right? He really—I know that upsets some people when I say that, but it's true. He doesn't. You're not in God's will if you're stupid about something. God loves you very much, and welcome aboard as a new Christian. But God gave us common sense when He created us, and He expects us to use it. I will do this for you: I think of an example flashes into my mind, and I'm sure it's from the Spirit. Look at the silly things that Satan tempted Christ with in Matthew chapter 4—it's scriptural. And he said, "Why jump off of this tower? It's written God will protect you." When Jesus would say, "Don't tempt God." Also it's written in other words: that would be stupid. Absolutely stupid for someone to jump off of a building because they've heard God will protect them. God protects you when you've done everything you can utilizing common sense. All right, so it sounds like your folks at least have a general idea. I think it's a wonderful thing to be a new Christian, and I pray that I have not offended you, but our Father expects us to be wiser than the serpent.

Howard from Connecticut: "For 35 years of my life, I have been severely depressed and have even attempted suicide. Several months ago I was healed, and I truly believe it was the work of the Holy Spirit. No pastor and no psychiatrist has ever told me to fight depression, but to accept my depression and go on with my life. I just wanted to tell you that the Holy Spirit has shown me that what you teach is the truth—not to tolerate Satan, but to fight him. Thank you, sir; you have changed my life." Well, God bless you, Howard. I appreciate that, but it isn't I that have changed your life; it's the Word of God. The Word of God is so powerful, and depression is something you don't have to put up with. God wants you to be a "can-do" type person, and yeah, we take names and kick dragon. And the best thing in the world for a person who's depressed is to start taking names and kicking dragon. I hope you all understand that's a figure of speech. That says accept Christ, accept the power and the authority that we have over Satan and the control of our lives, and I assure you, you won't be depressed any longer. Okay? Thank you, Howard.

Rachelle from Florida: "Do you believe in chastisement of a rebellious child?" Well, it's biblical. If you don't correct a child, you don't love it. Now at the same time, because different people hear things a different way, some people think chastisement means to beat up. I pray you know better than that. Never, never strike a child about the face. God prepared a special place for chastisement because it's nice and it's—you know, the place where you spank is puffy, like buns. You know, where there's nothing there that will break necessarily, and you don't hit it that hard anyway. But a nice little stinging doesn't hurt if you have to come to that. But many times children—you've got to understand, they are very intelligent. And if you will sit down with them and explain the problem, if they love you and you let them know your disappointment, many times talking to them is a very severe chastisement. All right, so you have to use it. But never chastise a child when you are angry, and it hurts you. Our Father chastised us; it's very biblical. Read Hebrews chapter 12. Okay.

Pete from California: "Revelation 7:2-3, seal angel withheld. Will the Antichrist use this verse when he comes to put an actual mark on people's foreheads and claim it as a seal?" No, no, no. Satan is smarter than that. He knows that's talking about what's *in* the forehead, not *on* it. That wouldn't fool anybody. Okay.

Bob from California: "You could take some lessons from my pastor about women. It says in Genesis that women are supposed to be the servants of man. We don't allow them to do anything in our church but serve us." Well, Bobby, I'd really rather not take any lessons from your pastor. What'd you make women serve you? When one of you is really down and it's a cold night, you never have one of them comfort you as a wife—you know, as a wife should? You're treating women like that? I would rather treat them the way that I teach to treat them: the greatest gift of man from God. And besides that, they're going to prophesy and teach, as we've studied in today's lecture. I would say that your pastor is all wet and is not a student of God's Word, and is just a little bit on the slow side of trying to get around to make second-class citizens out of somebody that God loves very much. What does he tell you, Bob? What does your dear pastor tell you about the old boy in the New Testament? I would give you the Scripture, but you can tell your pastor—he will know, just boom, just like that—about the man that had four virgin daughters and they were all prophetesses. You take your Strong's Concordance and you look up the word "prophetess"—that's a female prophet—and explain to me how God used them. All right? No, thank you, Bob. I'd rather not take any lessons. I've always been partial to women myself, and it's the greatest gift God ever gave man, and it works vice versa. And it's so much easier getting along with women when you give them what they want, and by pleasing them, then hey, they will make you happy. And they're not slaves. You know something, Bob? Your mother was not a slave; she was your mother. You want her to be a slave? Think about it.

Scott from California: "I think that—Scott, yeah—the Bible says that all of Cain's descendants were killed in the flood. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Kenites survived the flood. So how can you make the statements you do about this subject?" Well, we got some really educated people out there today, don't we? Haven't you ever read the Bible, Scott? I can tell you you haven't, because the Kenites not only made it through the flood, but they were the scribes for Judah, and it is well written in God's Word in 1st Chronicles chapter 2, verse 55. Their Kenite—the word Kenite cannot mean "sons of Cain." All right, and you can find them well-recorded in a World Book Encyclopedia and where they lived and so forth. So you don't know what you're talking about, son. I hate to tell you that. I teach God's Word as it's written.

And I am out of time, and I love you all a bunch. You know why? You enjoy studying our Father's Word in more depth. But what's most important: God loves you for that. All right, it makes this day. Now we brought to you by your tithes and offerings. Hey, if we've helped you, you help us keep coming to you. Once you do that, bless God, He will always bless you. But most important, stay in His Word every day. In His Word is a good day. You know why? Jesus—Yahshua—is the Living Word. Hearing God's Word with understanding will change your life.
